Susan P. Weinstein, Esq. has almost 25 years of experience with drug and drug-related topics. Most recently she was a court consultant for the National Center of State Courts where she oversaw the civil and criminal justice work group of the National Judicial Opioid task Force. Previously, she owned her own consulting firm where she assisted various organizations on issues including legal and legislative affairs and other matters regarding criminal law and substance abuse. She was also the Director of State and Federal Affairs for the National Alliance for Model State Drug Laws, the Chief Counsel for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, and worked in the criminal prosecution division of the National District Attorneys Association. In addition, she was employed in the criminal appeals division of the Office of the Attorney General in Baltimore, Maryland. She has authored numerous publications and presented at various conferences on the intersection of criminal law and substance abuse. Ms. Weinstein received her juris doctorate, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University’s College of Law and her Bachelor of Business Administration from George Washington University. She is a member of the bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of New Jersey, and the District of Columbia.
