The State Office of Drug Control Policy Act (Act) establishes a state agency to direct, coordinate, and oversee enforcement, prevention, education, treatment, and recovery policies and programs in a specific state. This Act also identifies the powers and duties of an established agency as well as the agency’s director and provides agency funding. This Model builds on the mission and purpose of the federal Office of National Drug Control Policy and on the laws in states from across the country that have created successful and robust state agencies.
